Women By Women is a unique photographic campaign championing the inspirational stories of women and girls and the remarkable talent of women photographers worldwide.

In 2024, we celebrate the leadership of women living through displacement who are shattering stereotypes about refugees and those seeking asylum from persecution or serious harm.

Our stunning collection of images from Poland, Uganda, Bangladesh, Turkey and Colombia also highlights the vital work of women-led organisations providing life-saving support to women seeking safety.

Join us from 7th-10th March at gallery@oxo, Oxo Tower Wharf, in London’s South Bank to support women and girls shattering stereotypes from behind and in front of the camera.

The photographers

Esther Mbabazi, Uganda

Documentary Photographer Esther Mbabazi uses storytelling and photojournalism to explore changing conditions on the African continent, focusing on the social, economic, physical and emotional aspects of daily life. She is a National Geographic Explorer, Everyday Africa Contributor and Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellow. Her work has been published in The New York Times, TIME Magazine, National Geographic, The Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal and has been commissioned by many NGOs.

Fabeha Monir, Bangladesh

Fabeha Monir is a humanist photographer who tells people-focused stories exploring themes of social development, migration, gender violence and forced exile in marginalised communities. She regularly reports and photographs for Panorama in Norway, is a Thomson Reuters Foundation's Grant Awardee and her work features in high-profile international media outlets. For the past 10 years, Fabeha has also specialised in working with NGOs documenting humanitarian emergencies and human rights issues with meaning and humanity.

F Dilek Yurdakul, Turkey

F Dilek Yurdakul is multi award-winning documentary photographer and lawyer from Turkey dedicated to photographing and drawing attention to important social issues. Dilek sees photography as an art form and uses metaphor to create layers of meaning in her images and to elevate her storytelling. Winner of over 200 awards, Dilek is also a contributor to National Geographic YS and National Geographic Turkey.

Laura Rios Diaz, Colombia

As a photographer and self-taught visual artist, Laura Rios Diaz focuses her work on gender, ethnicity, ecofeminism and the experience of the African diaspora in Colombia. She is also a filmmaker and has worked with several NGOs. Laura was recently awarded a scholarship in 2022 by the Doc:co Labs Film for Social Impact Laboratory and is a member of the Afro-descendant Film Council in Colombia.

Magda Klimczak, Poland

As a prolific food photographer based in Poland, Magda Kilmczak’s desire to explore the diverse tapestry of global cuisines means she has collaborated with some of the world's most celebrated chefs. Before becoming a photographer, Magda was a chef herself, so she understands how food can bring people together and has spent the last ten years capturing the essence of gastronomy through the lens of a camera. She has worked for several food magazines, women's magazines, newspapers and restaurants in Poland.
